Obituary Condolences

MERIDIAN -- Douglas Gayle Halpin, 45 of Meridian, formerly of Idaho Falls, died April 5, 2008, at his home in Meridian.

He was born Jan. 28, 1963, to Richard and Iona Halpin. He grew up in Idaho Falls and graduated from Idaho Falls High School in 1981. He attended Boise State University until 1983.

On Oct. 18, 1986, he married Jacquelyn Haight in Idaho Falls. He worked at Halpin's Dairy Supply in Idaho Falls until 1988 before moving to Meridian to help establish the new Halpin's Dairy Supply. He worked at Les Bois Racetrack and Western Idaho Fairgrounds.

Doug enjoyed all activities with his family, including playing board games, video games and going to movies with his sons; he was a friend to all and would go out of his way to help family, friends and neighbors.

Survivors include his sons, Christopher Halpin and Timothy Halpin, both of Pocatello; mother, Iona Halpin, of Idaho Falls; siblings, Linda (Marvin) Hanson of West Valley, Utah, Janet Surrusco, Bradley Halpin and Richard Halpin II, all of Idaho Falls, and Curtis (Leslie) Halpin of Nampa. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Halpin.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, April 14, at Buck-Miller-Hann Funeral Home, 825 E. 17th St. in Idaho Falls, with Deacon Rick Bonney officiating. The family will visit with friends for one hour Monday before services at the funeral home. Burial will be in Fielding Memorial Park Cemetery in Idaho Falls. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations for his children at the First Street Branch of Westmark Credit Union, Acct. 1954704.
