Margaret was born in Lancaster, Ohio, on February 11, 1916.
She married the Rev. Armand Mueller on July 26, 1933, in Lancaster, Ohio, where her grandfather had been a Lutheran Minister for 40 years. They spent their honeymoon traveling from Ohio to Van Nuys, California, during the "dust bowl era." Armand accepted his first call as a Lutheran Minister at First Lutheran Church. Under God's grace this church grew beyond expectations and a new one was built in 1952. This was a very happy and relaxed time for Margaret, and she enjoyed their ministry in this beautiful valley for 23 years. It was at this time, Christmas 1952, that they lost their oldest son, Edwin, 18, in an automobile accident, just as their youngest child was born. By the grace of God and this Bible passage, Margaret was able to accept this loss, Job 1 verse 21, "The Lord giveth, the lord taketh away." Armand and Margaret spent the following years at Immanuel Lutheran in Twin Falls, Idaho, St. Luke's Lutheran in Reno, Nevada, and St. Paul's Lutheran in Norwalk, California. Armand passed in 1968. This was a difficult time for Margaret and her two children, but a new phase in her life. She found she enjoyed working at a local hospital and then at Broadway Department store. It was in 1971, with the insistence of her oldest son that she moved to Idaho Falls to be close to family.
Walking the way of the Lord all her life, Margaret served another 38 years as an active and joyful member of St. John Lutheran Church and in the Brialle Society in Idaho Falls. She was a faithful servant of God and it resonated in everything she did. She was an inspiration for others to follow and will be missed tremendously. She is filled with love and joy to be able to be with her Heavenly Father.
Among those she left behind to rejoice in her life are her sons, Tom (Della) Mueller of Idaho Falls and Steve Mueller of Boise; and a daughter, Marilyn (Jeff) Baughman of Boise. Grandchildren include Cynthia (Eric) Henscheid of Boise, Tim (Mary) Mueller and Michael Mueller, both of Idaho Falls, Jason (Nicole) Mueller of Chandler Heights, Arizona, Shawn (Amy) Lindsay of Caldwell and Kurtis (Summer) Lindsay of Virginia City, Nevada. She also will be missed by her great-grandchildren, Brandy, Ian, Sarah, Zak, Sadie, Christopher, Mathew, Hallie, Shelby, Jamie, Ayden, Theron, Christian, Ira and Hannah. She was preceded in death by her husband, Armand Mueller; brother, Paul Miller; and sons, Edwin Mueller and David Mueller.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 2, 2011, at St. John Lutheran Church, 290 7th St. in Idaho Falls, with Pastor Jerry Reinke officiating. A viewing for family and friends will be held one hour prior to the funeral at the church. Burial will follow in Fielding Memorial Park Cemetery in Idaho Falls.
