Eleanor Rose of Lima, Mont., passed away peacefully Thursday, Oct. 4, 2012, in the care of Parkview Acres Care Center.
Mom was born April 25, 1932, in Rigby to Alfred and LaVerne Vadnais. She happily became one of the Vadnais crew of 11 children. She grew up in Kilgore, Idaho.
She met Stanford Rose and he was "her one and only!" They were married in 1949 and settled in Lima, Mont., where they raised two sons, Jack and Ed.
Eleanor was very hardworking and fun-loving. She spent countless hours in the mountains with her nephew and woodcutting, picnicking buddy, Kelly; and she could wield a chainsaw and an ax as well as any man. She split her own wood right up to the end, and fishing...? Forget it. She could sneak up on a little stream and catch her limit before you even got your worm wet! And oh, would she laugh! Eleanor leaves behind sons, Jack and his wife, Nancy, and Ed and his girlfriend, Emily; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brothers, Ted, Charles and Ed; as well as sisters, Eileen, Elma and Dorothy; and also many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Tom; and sisters, Barbara, Shirley, Maxine and Lou.
Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 8, at the Humphrey, Idaho, Cemetery. Coffee and desserts will be served following at the Fire House in Lima, Mont.
