Delmar K "Kay" Snarr, 79, of Idaho Falls, passed away Sunday, Oct. 28, 2012, at Lily and Syringa Assisted Living Center. He was under the care of Hands of Hope Hospice.
He was born April 18, 1933, in Idaho Falls to Delmar Daniel Snarr and Margaret Whitehead Oliverson Snarr. He attended New Sweden Elementary School, Central Jr. High and American School.
He joined the Air Force and served during the Korean War as an airman second class.
Kay married Dianna Marie Blair on June 19, 1954, in Portland, Ore. They made their home on the west side of Idaho Falls while raising their five children. He worked as a dairy farmer, and in his later years, he worked as a local custodian.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Kay loved airplane models and cartooning.
He is survived by his wife, Dianna of Idaho Falls; sons, Ray Snarr of Idaho Falls and Warren Snarr of Rigby; daughters, Teresa (Garth) Tietjen of Los Alamos, N.M., and Denise (Thomas) Williams of Lewistown, Mont.; mother, Margaret Snarr of Idaho Falls; sisters, Sherlene (Octavio) Galindo of Fountain Hills, Ariz., and DeeAnn (Laird) Whipple of Panaca, Nev.; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his father, Delmar Daniel "Dick" Snarr, and a daughter, Pamela Jean Snarr.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, at the Osgood LDS Ward Chapel, with Bishop Brad Reed officiating. The family will visit with friends at 9 a.m. prior to services at the church. Burial will be in Fielding Memorial Park. Military rites will be performed by the Bonneville County Veterans Team.
