Kerry Vaughn Kepler, 59, of Blackfoot, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2012, from a drowning accident while fishing.
He was born Oct. 3, 1953, in Idaho Falls, the son of William O. Kepler and Betty Bay Kepler. Vaughn attended Ucon Elementary and graduated from Bonneville High School. Following high school, he attended Boise State University.
He had lived in the Blackfoot area since 1992.
On Oct. 31, 1998, he married Alicia Wilcox at Groveland Elementary School in Blackfoot.
Vaughn especially enjoyed fishing with family and friends in his own backyard. He also enjoyed gardening, softball and playing the guitar.
For the past 40 years, he worked as a real estate agent. He also owned and operated Keps Car Sales.
He is survived by his wife, Alicia, of Blackfoot, and their son, Rowdy Vaughn Kepler. He also is survived by his two sons from a previous marriage, Jeremy Kepler of Idaho Falls and Tyson (Leslie) Kepler of Boise; parents, Bill and Betty Kepler of Idaho Falls; brother, Victor (Lisa) Kepler of Seattle; and sisters, Jan (Dean) Wilke of Meridian, Idaho, and Joni Kepler Fleenor of Idaho Falls.
A service will be held at 3 p.m. Monday, Nov. 5, at Hawker Funeral Home, 132 S. Shilling Ave. in Blackfoot. The family will meet with friends for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. A celebration of Vaughn's life will be held after the services at Groveland Elementary School, 170 N. 375 West in Blackfoot.
The family suggests memorials be made to the Rowdy Kepler college fund in care of Hawker Funeral Home.
