Stanley "Buck" Simons, 78, of Rexburg, passed away Saturday, Nov. 10, 2012, in St. George, Utah.
He was born Jan. 26, 1934, in Newburg, Ore., to Francis Katherine Smith and Oscar Carl Simons. He attended school in Gold Beach, Ore., where he played on the high school basketball team.
He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1954 until 1957 and was stationed in Japan.
He married DarLeen Hutchings on July 10, 1959. They have been married for 53 years. They are the parents of two loving daughters, Debbie and Stancy.
He spent his early years as a logger in Oregon and Montana. He later built and managed Cable TV in Montana and Idaho, retiring after 26 years.
He was an avid outdoorsman and he enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping. He loved life, friends and family.
He is survived by his loving wife, DarLeen; daughters, Debbie (Rod) Matkin and Stancy (Marty) Blaser; a sister, Katherine (Ray) G. Logan; a brother, Dennis G. Simons; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a niece, Ina Simons.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Beverly Simons.
Graveside services will be held at noon Thursday, Nov. 15, at Sutton Cemetery under the direction of Flamm Funeral Home. Military rites will be conducted by the Madison County Veterans and Idaho Honor Guard.
