Lois Lovenia Jardine Obituary

Lois Lovenia Jardine, 97, of Idaho Falls, passed away Monday, Dec. 17, 2012, at her home.

She was born Nov. 6, 1915, in Glencoe, Idaho, to Carl Enoch Peterson and Christena Lovenia Erickson Peterson. She was raised and attended schools in Grace, graduating from Grace High School as valedictorian. She then attended LDS Business College in Salt Lake City.

On Sept. 9, 1942, she married Virl Newell Jardine in Rockland, Texas; their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple. She worked for Federal Land Bank in Grace and Idaho Falls for over 40 years.

Lois was an active member of the LDS Church and severed as a temple matron and temple worker in the Idaho Falls Temple for over 20 years. She enjoyed gardening, yard work, canning, quilting, cooking, and actively enjoyed her family and many friends.

She is survived by her daughters, Christine (Lee) Fuchs of Idaho Falls and Jennifer (Paul) Sharman of Houston; sons, Jeffrey (Bonita) Jardine of Ammon, Gregory Virl Jardine of Idaho Falls, and Richard F (Verlinda) Jardine who are serving a mission in Nauvoo, Ill.; sister, GarFaye Harrison of Corvallis, Ore.; 31 grandchildren; and 78 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, three sisters and five brothers.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 22, at the Idaho Falls Stake Center on First Street. The family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. prior to services at the church. Burial will be in Lewisville Cemetery under the care of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
