David Rosen Obituary

David Wells Rosen, 48, of North Pole, Alaska, passed away Wednesday, March 20, 2013, at his home in North Pole.

He was born Oct. 15, 1964, in Seattle and was the second adopted son of Marion J. and Shirley Barney Rosen.

David was raised in Idaho Falls and attended Falls Valley Elementary and Bonneville High School. He attended the Vo-Tech at Idaho State University in Pocatello, where he learned auto upholstery and restoration.

He married Brandee Ella Bott on Dec. 2, 1983, and they had two children, Melissa Loye and Jessica Lyn. They later divorced.

He married Candice Marie Johnson on May 22, 1998, and they were divorced.

Even though his age says different, David remained young at heart and enjoyed playing with his nieces and nephews, teasing his brother and sister and especially his MOMMA! He made friends wherever he was and they learned that he was a very warm, giving and fun-loving person.

David was the owner and manager of Diamond Auto Body of Idaho Falls. He moved to Alaska in June 2007, where he was employed as an independent contractor by Carlisle Trucking as an "Ice Road Trucker," where you would occasionally see his truck on the History Channel's television program of the same name.

David also had a shop of his own where he was continually working, restoring and returning to new those projects that had great potential. He loved working on vehicles and was always fixing up his many pickups. In his shop he had a "wall of clocks" as a tribute to his father, whom he missed very much and spoke of often.

He is survived by his two daughters, Melissa Rosen and Jessica (Andy) Uhl, both of Burley, Idaho; six grandchildren, Shaylee, Dax, Jeremy, Seth, Myles and Gabrail; mother, Shirley Rosen of Smithfield, Utah; brother, Larry (Lana) Rosen of Cove, Utah; and sister, Sandra (Blake) Modersitzki of Highland, Utah.

He was preceded in death by his father, Marion J. Rosen, and his grandparents.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, April 5, at the Kearney 3rd Ward LDS Chapel, 1860 E. Kearney St. in Idaho Falls. The family will visit with friends from 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Friday prior to services at the church. Interment will follow in Lewisville Cemetery, where he will be laid to rest next to his father. Services are under the direction of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.

Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.eckersellfuneralhome.com.
