Dorothy Rae Woods, 76, passed away Tuesday, April 30, 2013, from heart failure.
Dorothy was born May 1, 1936, in Puyallup, Wash., to Nancy and Orville Bowers. Dorothy was the middle child of five children. As a child, Dorothy grew up in American Falls and attended school there.
Dorothy married David L. Woods, and they raised six children while residing in Aberdeen, Idaho.
Dorothy enjoyed genealogy, which she worked on extensively. Dorothy loved to crochet and knit for herself and others. Dorothy also had a love of reading.
Dorothy is survived by four sons and two daughters, David O. (Lisa) Woods, Danny (Jamie) Woods, Nancy (Jack) Adkins, Judy (Dennis) Teigeler, Douglas (Rosalee) Woods and Darrell (Donna) Woods; 13 grandchildren, Quentin (Tara) Woods, Candice (Nick) Mamola, Amy Thornton, Jason (Katie) Woods, Jami Woods, Lisa (Landon) Driscoll, Shawn (Olivia) Isaak, Alexandrea (Dan) Teigeler, Davis Teigeler, Brittney (Sam) Smith, Kim (Scott) Jones, Joseph Woods and Ryan Woods; 19 great-grandchildren, Macee, Race, Skyler, Emma, Hayden, Hannah, Corbin, Tanner, Bradley, Koby, Drake, RaeLee, Elizabeth, Brielle, Quinn, Hunter, Kadence, Eli and Alex; and two sisters, Shirley (Glen) Tighe of Lake Havasu, Ariz., and Patricia (Glenn) Walker of Twin Falls, Idaho.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, David L. Woods; her brother, Robert Bowers; her sister, Ethel Bartholoma; her parents, Nancy and Orville Bowers; and daughter-in-law, Janna Woods.
Funeral services for Dorothy will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 4, at the Aberdeen LDS church, 149 W. Central St. A viewing will be held from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. today, May 3, at Davis Rose Mortuary in American Falls and Saturday for one hour prior to services at the church.
