Olga Giacchetti Fineman, 92, of Idaho Falls, passed away Monday, April 20, 2015, at Life Care Center of Idaho Falls.
She was born Jan. 19, 1923, in Chicago to Frank Giacchetti and Assunta Biagi Giacchetti. She attended Chicago public schools and graduated from Bowen High School. Olga continued her education at University of Chicago, where she graduated in August of 1946 with a bachelor's degree.
On Aug. 31, 1946, she married Phillip Fineman in Chicago. They made their home in Chicago until 1968, when they moved to Idaho Falls. Phillip preceded her in death Dec. 15, 2005.
Olga was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker. She also worked as a laboratory technician for Metallurgical Laboratory, Manhattan Engineering District (Manhattan Project), as a World Book Encyclopedia salesperson and as a cashier at the Idaho Falls Livestock Auction.
Olga served as a Cub Scout den mother and as PTA president. She was also an usher at Drury Lane Theatre in Chicago. She and Phil enjoyed having international dinners and playing bridge with friends. Olga also enjoyed playing tennis with her friends known as the "tennis ladies."
The family wishes to thank the people who cared for Olga while she lived at Lincoln Court and during her last days at Life Care Center of Idaho Falls.
Survivors are sons, Bruce (Stephanie) Fineman of Denver and Clifford (Susan) Fineman of Idaho Falls; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a son, Keith Fineman.
Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, April 27, at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge Ave. The family will visit with friends from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Monday prior to the services at the funeral home. Burial will be at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Lincoln Court, 850 Lincoln Drive, Idaho Falls, Idaho 83401.
