James L. “Jim” Clark

James L. "Jim" Clark, 70, of Mauer Baden-Wurttemberg, Germany, formerly of Coudersport died unexpectedly Tuesday, March 18, 2014 in his home.
Born October 3, 1943 in Coudersport, PA, he was the son of Milford L. and Beatrice M. "Tootie" Tucker Clark. On May 14, 1983 in Heidelberg, Germany, he married Edda Doris Heidrun "Heidi" Meister, who survives.
Jim was a graduate of Coudersport Jr./Sr. High School, class of 1963. After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Army Europe - USAREUR. He proudly served our country from February 1964 through January 3, 2010. He was also a graduate of the University of Maryland in Heidelberg, Germany; class of 1975.
Jim loved his dads' John Deere 620, but his love of people took him off the farm to work in town at the former Heimel's Market in Coudersport. Jim was honored to drive the John Deere 620 in the parade celebrating Potter County's 200th Anniversary on October 9, 2004.
Jim loved his home in Potter County and was so interested in the history of the county and of his ancestry.
Jim is survived by his wife Heidi, of Germany; his son Christopher, of Germany; his parents Milford and Tootie Clark of Coudersport; a sister, Linda Lee (Terry) Sturdevant of Coudersport; two nieces, Krista (Rod) Doran of Coudersport and Kimberly (John) Dailey of Coudersport; a nephew, Jay (Christy) Baird of Franklin, NC; and several aunts, an uncle, and many cousins.
Jim was preceded in death by his sister Catherine Marie "Cathy" Baird; his paternal grandparents Roy and Alta Clark and his maternal grandparents Ed and Katie Tucker.
A memorial service will be held at a place and date to be announced. Burial will be in the Woodland Cemetery, Hebron. Military honors will be accorded by the Potter County Honor Guard.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care of the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, Shinglehouse, PA.
Memorials can be made to the Woodland Cemetery or the Potter County Historical Society.
