Frederic E. Anderson, 86, of Coudersport, PA died July 21, 2014 at Sweden Valley Manor.
Born April 20, 1928 he was the son of E. W. and Moree E. Nelson Anderson. On June 18, 1949 he married Margie Ford Anderson who preceded him in death July 20, 2011.
He served in the army and was stationed in Korea. He earned his bachelors degree from Lock Haven University and his masters degree from Penn State University and was an avid fan of both schools sports teams.
Fred was a very active member of the First United Presbyterian Church of Coudersport where he served in many leadership roles. He was the Coudersport Elementary School principal for many years until his retirement. He was a founding member of the Coudersport Service Club, member of the Masons, on the board of directors of Cole Memorial Hospital, and an honorary director of Cole Memorial Hospital. Fred was a very enthusiastic sports fan.
Fred is survived by his daughters; Moree (Butch) Haskins, Coudersport, PA, Kim (Bob) Dovey, Mercersburg, PA, Jami (Chris) Palmatier, Virginia Beach, VA, Jodi (John) Dubots, Temecula, CA, son; Dirk (Lisa Weber) Anderson, Pittsburgh, PA, brother; John Gerry (Lois) Anderson, Philadelphia, PA, thirteen grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife.
Friends and family are invited to Fred's Life Celebration August 2, 2014 at the First United Presbyterian Church, 402 North Main St., Coudersport, PA with a receiving of friends from 12pm-2pm, and a memorial service to follow at 2pm the Rev. Evon Lloyd officiating. Burial in the Eulalia Cemetery, Coudersport, PA.
