Dr. Michael Alexander Kavounas, 51 of Coudersport, PA passed away Saturday August 2, 2014, in the Berkley Medical Center, Martinsburg, WV.
Born November 8, 1962 in Allentown, PA he was the son of Alexander H. Kavounas and Constance Huebner. On May 4, 2002 he married Robyn Dennise Kavounas.
Michael graduated from Emmaus High School. He attended the University of Pittsburgh from 1984-1990 graduating summa cum laude with degrees in athetic training and physical therapy, and Logan College from 1994-1997 where he completed his chiropractic training. He was a member of the American Physical Therapy Assoc., American Chiropractic Assoc., American Motorcycle Assoc., and the American Historic Racing Motorcycle Assoc. He enjoyed racing motorcross, vintage bike racing, restoring motorcycles. Michael loved nature, the outdoors, his family and his dogs Zoe and Zeus.
Michael is survived by his wife Robyn, sons; Austin J. and Hunter A. Ricke, and daughter Mikayla L. Kavounas all of Coudersport, PA, his father Alex Kavounas of Alabama, mother and step-father; Constance V. and Neil R. Snyder of Macungie, PA, mother and father in-law Gary L. and Debra L. Schenberg of Titusville, PA, brother, Thom Kavounas, Allentown, PA, sisters; Hazel Beth Stahl, Bethlehem, PA and Kristin Lynn Cumano, Allentown, PA.
Michaels life celebration service will begin Thursday, August 7, 2014 with a receiving of family and friends from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at the Thomas E. Fickinger Funeral Home Ltd, "A Life Celebration Home" 210 North East St. Coudersport, PA 16915, His funeral service will be held Friday, August 8, 2014 at 11am at the Coudersport Alliance Church, Pastor Joe Lazurek officiating.
A memorial service will be held at Morgenland Union Church 3120 Weidasville Rd. Orfield, PA and will be announced at a later date.
