Robert K. Currin, 87, of Coudersport, PA died Sunday, June 29, 2014 at Cole Memorial Hospital.
Born July 14, 1926 he was the son of Alton B. and Fleda Knepp Currin. On August 23, 1952 in Coudersport he married Maxine Jewart Currin who preceded him in death October 11, 2001.
Bob was a graduate of Sugar Valley Vocational School, Lock Haven State Teachers College and Penn State University. He taught school in Coudersport for 35 years retiring in 1982. Bob was a member of Park United Methodist Church of Coudersport, president of PCHS for 30 years, curator for Masonic Lodge in Olean, NY, member of the Coudersport Consistory, and member of the Black Forest Conservation Assoc.
Bob is survived by his son, James Currin, Coudersport, PA, brother; Alton Currin, Birmingham, AL, sister; Othea Lamey, Loganton, PA, three grandchildren; Sue Suhr, Warrenton, VA, Joe Currin, Harrisburg, PA and John Currin, Coudersport, PA and two great- grandchildren; Katherine and Markus Suhr. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and brother; Duane Currin.
A memorial service for Bob will take place on Thursday, July 17, 2014 at 6pm at the Park United Methodist Church, 15 E. Third St., Coudersport, PA 16915, Pastor Scott Ogden officiating.
