Dwight R. Pennell, 56, of Fleetwood, formerly of Holyoke, Mass., passed away suddenly on Monday, Sept. 23, 2013.
He was the husband of Nancy C. Nyberg-Pennell. They were married May 8, 1999.
Born in Holyoke, Mass., he was a son of Lillian (Allard) Pennell, of Holyoke, Mass., and the late Dwight R. Pennell, Sr.
Dwight was a 1976 graduate of Holyoke High School, where he played on the football team and participated in amateur boxing.
He was a member of the Lyons Fire Company, Lyons, and the Ray A. Master Post 217, American Legion, Topton.
Dwight worked for Brandywine Transportation, Mertztown, managing the Southern Lehigh Transportation branch in Coopersburg. Prior to that, he worked as a school bus driver for Brandywine Heights Area School District, Topton, and as a plant manager for Unifoil Corporation, Fairfield, N.J. He also worked as a plant superintendent for Hazer Paper Company, Holyoke, Mass.; James River Graphics (Rexham Corporation) at their South Hadley, Mass., and the Pennsylvania facility. Dwight started his career at Hampden Papers in Holyoke, Mass.
Survivors: He leaves his loving wife and best friend of 14 years, Nancy Nyberg-Pennell of Fleetwood, formerly of Chicopee; mother; Lillian (Allard) Pennell, Holyoke, Mass.; daughter, Sara (Pennell) Seyboth, Seekonk, Mass.; sister, Evelyn Pennell, Holyoke, Mass.; brothers, Paul, husband of, Donna Pennell, Holyoke, Mass., Randy, husband of Angela Pennell, Port Charlotte, Fla.; fur kids, Great Ness, Apollo, Gabby, Baxter; and many other family members and friends who will miss his sense of humor. He was predeceased by his father, Dwight R. Pennell, Sr., and a brother, Mark Pennell.
A celebration of Dwight's life will take place at a later date. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours.
