Becker, Ernest* - Spring City  
ERNEST BECKER, 92, OF SPRING CITY Ernest Becker, 92, of Spring City, husband of the late Annamarie, and husband of Rita, passed away Thursday, December 11, 2014 while at home. Born in Pottstown, he was the son of David and Christine Becker. Ernie faithfully served the Lord as a Sunday school teacher and a church leader of Exeter Bible Church. For the last 13 years he and Rita were faithful members at Valley Forge Baptist Temple. Ernie was a Staff Sergeant in the Army during WWII serving in both Europe and the South Pacific. Surviving in addition to his wife, Rita, are two sons, Brian and Dale Becker. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, December 17, at Valley Forge Baptist Temple, 616 S. Trappe Road, Collegeville, PA with Pastor Scott Wendal officiating.

Beswick, Dorothy A.* - Spring City  
DOROTHY A. BESWICK, 90 Dorothy A. Beswick, 90, formerly of Spring City, PA died on December 10, 2014 at Parkhouse Providence Pointe. She was born in Audubon, PA to the late Clarence and Mary (Byer)Beswick. She was a 1942 graduate of Norristown High School. Dorothy worked for 44 years at Dettra Flag Company and also drove bus for fours at Chapel Christian School. She was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Oaks, PA. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Evelyn and Thelma Beswick. A private burial service will be held at the convenience of the family. Bitler Jr., Charles F.* - Pottstown  
CHARLES F. BITLER JR., 87, OF POTTSTOWN Charles F. Bitler Jr., 87, of Pottstown, PA, formerly of Lancaster, PA, passed away peacefully, with his loving wife by his side, Tuesday, December 9, 2014 at Manor Care, Pottstown, PA. He was the husband of Anna Mae (Moyer) Bitler, with whom he shared 15 years of marriage, and the late Grace Doan Bitler, who died in 1996. Born in Adamstown, Cumru Twp., PA, he was a son of the late Charles F. Bitler Sr. and Emma M. (Planer) Bitler. Mr. Bitler was raised on the Living Spring Farm in Adamstown, PA (Now a Bed and Breakfast). He attended a one room school house in Angelica, PA from 1st - 8th grades. He was a 1945 graduate of Shillington High School and continued his education at Penn State University where he received his certificate as a Professional Land Surveyor. He also graduated from Lancaster Bible College, where he received a certificate to teach Sunday school and bible school. He worked as a professional land surveyor for Huth Engineers in Lancaster for many years, retiring in 1983. Some of his major surveying projects include: City of Lancaster Authority; Lancaster Area Sewer Authority; Hershey Estates; Armstrong World Industries; United States Army. Prior to his retirement at Huth Engineers, he was in charge of all surveying office work. This included the supervision of all drafting and computing for boundary surveys, subdivisions and right of way surveys. In addition to the supervision he wrote all legal descriptions for subdivisions, rights of way and other properties. He was presented with a citation from the Lancaster Township for serving as a Zoning Officer, Code Enforcement Office, Emergency Management Coordinator and Planning Commissioner. Mr. Bitler was a World War II veteran, joining the U.S. Army the day after the bomb was dropped on Hiroshima. He served during the war in Japan. An artist, specializing in oils and water color painting, he was the featured artist of the month in 1996 at the Surveyor's Conference, donating an original piece of art to the benefit of students. He was a member of the A.A.R.P., the Rotary Club of Lancaster, where he had perfect attendance for 27 years and then served on the board of the Pottstown Rotary Club. He also volunteered his surveying skills and time at several bible camps including; 1996-2002 Victory Bible Camp in Palmer, Alaska, followed by two weeks at Camp Liwa in Fairbanks, Alaska; Twin Pines (Trinity E.C. Church's bible camp) in Stroudsburg, PA. One of his passions was the preservation and maintenance of the Mason Dixon Line. He would make sure the stone markers were properly located and the site was landscaped. He was an excellent speaker and would donate his time providing presentations about the Mason Dixon Line to church groups and schools. Mr. Bitler traveled extensively for work and pleasure. He was on every Continent exept Africa. He had a trip planned in 2008 to complete his goal, but had to cancel for health reasons. Some of his destination highlights were: Antarctica, New Zealand, Australia, Branson, Missouri, Louisiana, Grand Canyon, Arizona, Smokey Mountains, TN, Nashville, Maryland, Yellow Stone, Wyoming, Black Rock, PA, Mt. Rushmore, Denmark, Norway, Sweden and Finland. Surviving in addition to his wife are one sister, Betty Stalnaker of Venice, FL; sisters-in-law, Cecil Bitler of North Port, FL, and Rosella Bitler of Sanatoga, PA, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Harold Bitler Sr. and Edward Bitler Sr., and his sister, Anna Miller. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service 11 a.m. on Tuesday, December 16, 2014 at Trinity Evangelical Congregational Church, 250 Swinehart Road, Boyertown, PA 19512. Rev. John Friedlund, Rev. Donald McHenry and Pastor Kenneth Weaver will officiate. A viewing will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Monday at the Houck & Gofus Funeral Home, Inc., 955 N. Charlotte Street, Pottstown, PA and from 10-11 a.m. on Tuesday at the church. Interment with military honors will be in St. John's Cemetery - Gibraltar, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Rotary Club of Pottstown, P.O. Borneman, Richard* - Pottstown  
Richard U. Borneman, 88, of Keystone Villa, Douglassville, PA, husband of Katherine E. (Boyer) Herman Borneman, died Thursday at the Reading Medical Center. Born in Sanatoga, PA, he was a son of the late Elmer S. and Irene (Urffer) Borneman, and his step mother Myra Borneman. Mr. Borneman was a graduate of Pottstown High School. He was employed as a truck driver with the former Bethlehem Steel Co. for 31 years and the Allentown Refrigeration Corp., Boyertown, retiring in 1991. He was a veteran of the Army Air Force during WWII. Mr. Borneman was a member of Saint Gabriel's Episcopal Church, Douglassville. He was a member of the Union Masonic Lodge #479, Birdsboro, the Amity Lions Club and the B & M Sportsman Club. Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons, Bruce F. Borneman, Reading; Michael A., husband of Heather Borneman, Sinking Spring; two daughters, Diane L. wife of the late Thomas Kaag, Wyomissing; Elizabeth K. wife of Ryan Reppert, Painted Post, NY; and a brother, Leon U., Gilbertsville, 13 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. He was predeceased by three brothers and two sisters. A memorial service will be held 10 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 20, 2014 from Saint Gabriel's Episcopal Church, 1188 Ben Franklin Hwy, Douglassville, PA 19518. Officiating will be Father David Green. Burial will be private in the church cemetery. Following the service, the family will greet relatives and friends at a light luncheon served in the church social hall. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to St. Gabriel's Episcopal Church, 1188 Ben Franklin Hwy, P.O. Box 396, Douglassville, PA 19518. Brumbaugh, Robert* - Mechanicsburg  
Dr. Robert Jenkins Brumbaugh, age 94 of Mechanicsburg and formerly of Pottstown, Pa. passed away Thursday, Sept. 11, 2014. Robert was the Owner and President of W. B. Coleman Testing Laboratories in Philadelphia, Pa.. Robert is survived by his wife Anne (Green) Brumbaugh, his three daughters, The Rev. Deborah L.
