Albert J. Staskiel

ALBERT J. STASKIEL, 94, OF POTTSTOWN Albert J. Staskiel, 94, widower of Helen M. (Cichan) Staskiel of Pottstown, died Sunday at his residence. Born in Atlas, PA, he was the son of the late Stanley & Emma (Cozmerski) Staskiel. Mr. Staskiel had first worked as a miner and later as a burner for the former Bethlehem Steel Corporation of Pottstown. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II where he served in the European theatre of operations. He was a member of St. Aloysius R.C.C. Pottstown, as well as the Kulpmont V.F.W. Post #8354 the German Club, the Pottsgrove American Legion Post #244 and the Kulpmont American Legion Post 231 and a life member of the Pottstown Moose Lodge and a member of the Jansobieski Society of Kulpmont, PA. Surviving is a son, James A. Staskiel of Pottstown, and a daughter, Betsy A., wife of Fred T. "Bud" Lewis of Birdsboro; two sisters, Henrietta Visintainer and Pearl Martello, both of Mt. Carmel; three grandchildren, Alyse Gonyea, Christopher Kirkhoff and Oriana Bareham, and a great-grandson, Ethan Gonyea. A funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Gabriel's R.C.C., Howard & Jefferson Streets in Stowe, on Wednesday October 5, 2011 at 10 a.m. Interment will be in Highland Memorial Park, Pottstown. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 8:30 - 9:30 a.m. from Warker-Troutman Funeral Home, 726 East High Street Pottstown, PA 19464.
