Alvin H. Baudot

ALVIN H. BAUDOT, 91, OF POTTSTOWN Alvin H. Baudot, 91, of Pottstown, passed away on March 1, 2012, at Manatawny Manor in Pottstown. He was the husband of Nancy (Bliem) Baudot. Born in Pottstown, he was the son of the late Alvin F. Baudot and Lillian (Schuefert) Baudot. Mr. Baudot was a 1938 graduate of Pottstown High school. After completing high school, Mr. Baudot went on to serve his country in the United States Army with the 2nd Division during WWII. Mr. Baudot and the rest of his 2nd division were instrumental in landings at Normandy, and fought bravely in the Battle of the Bulge. Mr. Baudot is a recipient of the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart for his services. After his service to his country, He later went to work for the Spicer Company (Formally Dyna Corporation). He then worked for the United States Postal Service for 33 years obtaining the position of Postmaster. Mr. Baudot was a member of the American Legion as well as a member of the Elks Lodge for 51 years. Mr. Baudot was also an instrumental part of starting the North End Swim Club in Pottstown. Surviving in addition to his wife are daughter, Gail, wife of William G. Doebling of Kimberton; three grandchildren, Shawn Doebling of San Leadaro, CA: Tracey Williams of Powell, OH, and Jessica Reigner of Collegeville, and five great-grandchildren, Sophia Williams, Campbell Williams, Avery Reigner, Quinn Reigner and Gavin Reigner. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one son, A. Francis "Pete" Baudot, and one half-brother, Gilbert Bottner. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March7, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Houck and Gofus Funeral Home Inc., 955 N. Charlotte St. Pottstown. An Elks service will be also held during the funeral service on Wednesday. Family and friends may call from 10-11 a.m. Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Park, Pottstown.
