Ardell Biehl Conrad(1916 - 2014)

ARDELL BIEHL CONRAD Ardell Biehl Conrad, born February 18, 1916, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Monday morning, June 2, 2014, at Parkhouse Providence Pointe where she resided the last four years. She was born in Pottstown, PA, the eldest of five children of John W. and Hettie L. (Biehl) Quigley. She graduated from eighth grade and worked in a sewing factory for a few years until she met and married her husband of 62 years, Preston W. Conrad. They settled in Gilbertsville where Ardell helped her husband start Conrad's Body Shop, she handled the paper work while he repaired the vehicles. As a homemaker and mother of five children she was active in her church Sunday school program, Cub Scouts, and for a brief time was an Avon representative. St. Luke Lutheran Church Gilbertsville children's program benefitted from her love of music, and her piano and organ playing skills. Ardell's passion for plants and flowers was evident in the various flower beds that framed her home. In her later years Ardell could be found working on Word Search puzzles or singing her favorite songs. One of Ardell's favorite sayings was "don't drive any faster than your guardian angel can fly". Ardell is survived by her children Jean Renninger (Gilbertsville), William Conrad and his wife Jill (Sanatogo, PA), John Conrad and his wife Rachel (Gilbertsville), and David Conrad and his wife Donna (Gilbertsville) and Sara Weller and her partner Robert Wynings (Boyertown); brother Willis Quigley and his wife Eleanor (Apopka, FL) and a sister Shirley "Toot" Brandt (Tempe, AZ); 10 grandchildren and their families: Marcia, Jeffery, Keith, Brenda, Melinda, Jennifer, Lindsay, Adrienne, Abigail, and Matthew, and five great-grandchildren Gryphon, Willow, Gavin, Natalie, and Kyla. Ardell is predeceased by husband Preston W. Conrad; son-in-law Lavern Renninger; sister Thorma and her husband Lou Wagner, and brother Carl and his wife Grace Quigley. Viewing will be Thursday, June 5, 2014, from 9 - 10 a.m. at the Chapel at Limerick Garden of Memories, 44 Swamp Pike, Limerick, PA. A memorial service will be held Thursday, June 5, 2014 at 10 a.m. from the Chapel at Limerick Garden of Memories The Rev. Christopher Weidner of St Luke Lutheran Church Gilbertsville will officiate. Interment immediately following the memorial service at Limerick Garden of Memories. Floral arrangements can be sent directly to Limerick Garden of Memories.
