Barbara J. (Walters) Elliott Bartholomew, 83, wife of the late Harry S. Elliott and the late Luther R. Bartholomew, died Friday, Nov. 29th, at Frederick Living, Upper Frederick Twp. She was a former resident of Quakertown and Limerick Twp.
Mrs. Bartholomew was born March 17, 1930, in Upper Pottsgrove Twp. She was the daughter of the late Milton E. and Amy K. (Gaugler) Walters.
Mrs. Bartholomew retired in 1985 from the Bell Telephone Co., where she worked more than 30 years, in Allentown, Chadds Ford, Norristown and Pottstown.
Mrs. Bartholomew was a member of St. James Lutheran Church where she was a former Sunday school teacher. She also was a member of the Telephone Pioneers, Allentown, and the Red Hat Society, Quakertown. She also volunteered with Meal-On-Wheels and the Association for the Blind & Visually Impaired.
An avid traveler, Barbara visited countries all over the world including Australia, Egypt, Israel and various countries in Europe.
Mrs. Bartholomew is survived by her daughter, Pamela J. (Elliott), wife of Jerome Galie, Dublin, and Paul S., husband of Anne (Stump) Elliott, Lower Heidelberg Twp., her stepchildren, Dale, husband of Cheryl (Caprio) Bartholomew, Bozeman, Mont., and Diane (Bartholomew), wife of John Marmor, Milford Twp., four grandchildren, four stepgrandchildren, and nine step-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Carl and Milton Walters, Jr.
Nothing was more important to Mrs. Bartholomew than family and she will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, at St. James Lutheran Church, Swamp Pike & Kugler Rds., Limerick Twp., with the Rev. Stuart Luce, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Limerick Garden Of Memories, Limerick Twp.
