Carl P. Brickel Jr.

Carl P. Brickel, Jr., 87, of Leesport, passed away April 27, 2013 at 11:45 PM in Phoebe Berks where he resided since May 25, 2012. He was born in Reading on February 17, 1926 a son of the late Carl P. Brickel, Sr. and the late Helen D. (Stoudt) Brickel.
Carl was a 1944 graduate of Reading High School. He was employed for 33 years at Tom Masano, Inc retiring as a Vice President and General Manager on January 1, 1990. He then worked as a Consultant at Masano from 1990 until 2000.
He is survived by four sons Bradley L. Brickel, husband of Christine A. of Wyomissing; James A. Brickel of Winston-Salem, NC; David R. Brickel, husband of Marilyn M. of Exeter Twp.; and Tim P. Brickel, husband of Debra J with whom he last resided; a step son Craig R. Ruffner of Texas; a step daughter Carol (Ruffner) Horne of Middleberg; 6 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; and a brother Jack A. Brickel, Sr. of Shillington, and Carl's loving companion Margaret "Peg" McLaughlin of West Wyomissing. He was predeceased by a son Jeffrey C. Brickel on July 7, 1995 and a grandson Glen D. Brickel on July 24, 2012.
Family was everything to Carl. He created a fun atmosphere and laughter wherever he was. The family wishes to thank the staff at Phoebe for the wonderful care in the last year.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Threshold Scholarship Fund,in memory of Jeff Brickel, 1000 Lancaster Ave., Reading, PA 19607.

Visitation:
Friends and relatives will be received Thursday 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM.

Service:
Services will be Thursday at 12:00 PM in Bean Funeral Home, 3825 Penn Ave., Sinking Spring. Rev. Mark E. Brophy will officiate.

Cemetery:
Interment will be made in Pleasant View Cemetery.
