Carmelo J. Cataldi

Carmelo J. "Mim" Cataldi, 91, of Kutztown, passed away Oct. 12, 2012 in Kutztown Manor where he resided since Sept. 27.
He was born Feb. 12, 1921 in Maspeth, Queens County, N.Y., to the late George and Jennie (DeStafano) Cataldi. He was the husband of Helen A. (Keller) Cataldi whom he married on June 3, 1942.
He was employed as foreman of the cutting room at Wenton Shoe in Kutztown, a sewing machine mechanic at Letisse Handbags in Reading for 35 years, Hamilton Luggage, T and H Fashion in Kutztown and last worked at Gilardone Embroidery.
Surviving in addition to his wife are a son Michael F. Cataldi of Rochester, New Hampshire; a grandson Christopher M. Cataldi of Schuylkill Haven; two great granddaughters Samantha Sue Cataldi and Dixie Custer both of Pottsville; a sister Carmela (Cataldi), widow of Andrew Borgia of Long Island, N.Y.; three Godchildren Richard, Mark and Scott and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family requests no flowers be sent. Contributions may be made to the family c/o Sovereign Bank, 61 Constitution Blvd., Kutztown, PA 19530 in the name of Carmelo J. Cataldi.
Friends and relatives were received in Bean Funeral Home, Hampden Heights. Services were at the convenience of the family. Rev. Paul L. Jones will officiate. Entombment in Laureldale Cemetery Mausoleum.
