Carol E. Ortolani

CAROL E. ORTOLANI, 67 Carol E. Ortolani, 67, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ after a courageous battle with cancer, on July 5, 2013 leaving behind her loving and devoted husband of 49 years, Thomas Ortolani. Also surviving is her daughter Connie Piatt, son-in-law Eric Piatt of Odessa, FL; three grandsons Ricky, 22; David, 18, and Nicolas Piatt, 17; sister Linda Epprecht; brother-in-law James Epprecht of Limerick, PA; brother John Christman of Royersford, PA, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Born October 26, 1945 in Spring City, PA, to Mary and John Christman, she was a real people person, full of life and fun and many friends and co-workers. While in Pennsylvania, she worked as the emergency room clerk in the Phoenixville Hospital, and served as a volunteer on the Spring City Area Ambulance. She was active in her church serving on committees and sang in the choir and also enjoyed playing on a volleyball team as well as many crafts. She was an avid Civil War and history buff, animal lover, taught organ lessons and loved to dance. Moved with her husband and daughter from Pennsylvania to Dunedin, FL, in 1980, where she was employed by Mease Hospital Dunedin from 1980 till she retired as a PCT in Ambulatory Care in 2008. She loved to travel and go on cruises and to be with co-workers, family and friends, especially her grandchildren, and was a member of Harborside Christian Church in Safety Harbor. She will be greatly missed by many family and friends. There will be a memorial service and celebration of her life at Bon Appetit Banquet Room, Dunedin, FL, Wednesday, July 31, from 1-4 p.m. In lieu of flowers we suggest or the Clearwater Humane Society.
