DANIEL R. MOORE JR., 87, OF PHOENIXVILLE Daniel R. Moore Jr., 87, of Phoenixville, passed away on Thursday, October 4, 2012 at Seasons Hospice. He was the husband of Elizabeth A. (Kane) Moore. He was born in Norristown to the late Daniel R. Sr. and Mary (Pascale) Moore. He was a graduate of Bridgeport High School. Mr. Moore was a World War II
veteran. He served in the Army
with the 89th Division, 3rd Battalion, 355th Infantry Regiment, Company L in the European Theatre. After being discharged as a corporal, he worked for ten years as a mechanic for London Motors and was a 30-year employee at Burroughs until retiring in 1986. He was an active member of First United Methodist Church, Phoenixville, PA, where was in the Conversation Club, Men's Bible Study and Trustee's Maintenance Crew. In addition to his wife of 55 years, he is survived by his two sons, Jack, husband of Alaina Axford-Moore of Trappe, and Thomas S., husband of Peggy L. Moore of Phoenixville, and grandsons, Danny and Jacob Moore. He was preceded in death by a son, Timothy, and brother, John. His funeral service will be held on Monday, October 8, 2012 at 11 a.m. at First U.M.C., 865 S. Main Street, Phoenixville, PA 19460. Officiating will be Revs. Mark Young and Eva Johnson. Calling time is from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in Philadelphia Memorial Park.
