Delbert Relton "Del" Dimmitt

DELBERT "DEL" RELTON DIMMITT, 88, OF POTTSTOWN Delbert "Del" Relton Dimmit, 88, Pottstown, born February 8 1924 and passed away March 4, 2012 at Pottstown Memorial Medical Center. He was the beloved husband of Vivian (Crockett) Dimmitt. Born in Kittanning, PA, he was the son of the late Frank Dimmitt and Pearl (Rufner) Dimmitt. He is also preceded in death by four brothers and a sister. Mr. Dimmitt faithfully served his country with the United States Navy during WWII. After his time in the Navy, he worked for Belmont Iron and Morris Wheeler Steel Co. as plant superintendent. After his retirement, he went to work for Warwick Township for several years as the code enforcement officer. He was a member of the Mt. Pickering Mason Lodge #446. He was also a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars and also a former President of the Spring-Ford Rotary Club. In addition to his wife, survivors include one son, Scott Dimmitt, husband of Debra; one daughter, Kim, wife of Karl Hainsey; grandchildren, Kelly and Jeb Keiffer, Kristin and Kevin Filipovic, Michael and Adriande Dimmitt and Kolten and Karl Hainsey Jr., and four great-grandchildren, Austin and Rylie Filipovic and Michael J. Keiffer and Hunter Jacob Dimmitt Funeral Services will be held on Friday, March 9, 2012; a short visitation from 10 to 11 a.m. at Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church, 2203 Harmonyville Road, Elverson, followed by the service. Friends and family may call on Thursday, March 8, 2012 from 6-8:30 p.m. at Houck and Gofus Funeral Home, 955 N. Charlotte St., Pottstown. A Masonic service will take place on Thursday at 7 p.m. the funeral home. Interment will take place immediately following the funeral service on Friday, at the Mt. Carmel Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to Mt. Carmel Church, Elverson, PA 19520.
