Edna Louise Flagg

EDNA LOUISE FLAGG, 66, OF POTTSTOWN Edna Louise (Brown) Flagg, 66, of Pottstown, passed away on Sunday, November 13, 2011 in Pottstown Memorial Medical Center, after a battle with lung cancer. Known affectionately as Louise, she was a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, who will be missed. Born and raised in Williamsburg, VA, Louise attended high school in James City County before moving to Phoenixville in the early 1960's. She lived most of her life in Phoenixville, where she also enjoyed playing in the women's softball recreation league for several years. She was gifted with a beautiful voice, and enjoyed singing and playing the piano. She was also an avid reader who accumulated an extensive collection of novels. She also loved fishing. Louise worked at the West Company in various clerical and packaging positions for more than 41 years before retiring in 2009. Her love and devotion to her family was felt across five generations. She is survived by her mother, Frances Brown of Phoenixville; three daughters, Wanda, wife of Randy Lollar of Phoenixville; Maketta, wife of Robert Sutton Jr. of Phoenixville, and Angela L. Flagg of Richmond, VA; five brothers, George Brown Jr. of Phoenixville; Larry Brown of Pottstown; Alfred Brown, husband of Diane of Phoenixville; Jessie Brown of Phoenixville, and Johnnie Mac Brown, Sr. of Phoenixville; six grandsons, Robert III, Luther and Jordan Sutton; Aaron and Erik Lollar, and Ronald Carter, Jr.; five great-grandchildren; six nieces and seven nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister, Joy Lynn Ingram, and her father, George Brown, Sr. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral service in the Bethel Baptist Church, 412 Fairview Street, Phoenixville, on Friday, November 18, 2011 at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Morris Cemetery, Phoenixville.
