Edyth Ferne Miller

EDYTH FERNE MILLER, 96 Edyth Ferne (Ulmer) Miller, 96, passed away on November 22, 2012 at the home of her son in Columbia, Md. Born in Audubon, PA, she was a daughter of the late Newton and Rena Zaun Ulmer. She was the widow of Warren L. Miller who died in 1996. She lived with her husband Warren on Hares Hill Road for many years and they had one son, Warren Newton. Mrs. Miller worked for 17 years as a bookkeeper for Harold Berger, Esquire, at the Berger Brothers five Boston shoe stores and later as rental agent and bookkeeper at the Knollwood Apartments for 10 years. She was also an organist for many local churches in the area for over 60 years. In 2001 Mrs. Miller moved to Columbia, MD, to be closer to her son, Warren and his wife, Karen, and resided with them until her passing. She is survived by one son, Warren Newton, husband of Karen; a granddaughter, Kimberly (Miller) Behrens, wife of Robert Behrens, and their two sons, Tyler and Kyle of Ellicott City, MD, and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Miller was predeceased by her three sisters, Helen Raser, Evelyn Phillips and Marian Carns, and three brothers, Harvey Ulmer, Nevin Ulmer and Milward Ulmer. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service at First United Methodist Church, 865 Main Street, Phoenixville, on Thursday morning, January 24, 2013 at 11 a.m. Officiating will be the Reverend Mark Young. Friends will be received from 10 to 10:45 a.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers contributions may be sent to the First United Methodist Church, 865 South Main Street, Phoenixville, PA 19460.
