Eli S. Eisenhard

ELI S. EISENHARD, 96, OF BOYERTOWN Eli S. Eisenhard, 96, passed away early Tuesday morning at home in Boyertown with longtime companion Edna (Jackie) Bergey by his side. Born August 26, 1916, he attended the Boyertown Senior High School. Eli was employed by the Boyertown Burial Casket Company, Boyertown, PA, serving in various capacities, finally serving as Vice President. He was a member of Good Shepherd Church and a former member of the National Building Code Board. He was a long-serving volunteer with the Boy Scouts, serving as Assistant Scoutmaster of Boyertown Troop 1 and then District Commissioner of the Penn's Pioneer District of the Daniel Boone Council, Boy Scouts of America. He was a long time member of Boyertown Lodge Masonic Lodge # 741. He enjoyed reading, spending time in the Pocono Mountains and traveling around the world. His interest in genealogy led him to research the background of all four grandparents. Survivors include one daughter, JoAnn Bergeman of Boyertown; one granddaughter, Jodie Dunkelberger of Mt. Washington, KY; one grandson, Richard Bergeman IV of Oley; six great-grandchildren, and five great-great grandchildren. He was predeceased in death by his wife of 50 years, Josephine Eisenhard, in 1985, and his mother, Emma Eisenhard. A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 4, 2013 at 1 p.m. at Morrell Funeral Home Inc., 124 West Philadelphia Avenue, Boyertown, PA.
