Esther S. (Epting) Fenstermacher, 94, formerly of Topton, died Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2014 in Lehigh Center, Lower Macungie Township, where she was a resident since last September.
She was the widow of Harold M. Fenstermacher, who died March 23, 2001.
Born in Maxatawny Township, she was a daughter of the late George and Ida (Moyer) Epting.
Mrs. Fenstermacher was a member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ, Topton.
She was a 1938 graduate of Kutztown Area High School where she was the class salutatorian.
She was employed as a telephone operator by the former Conestoga Telephone, Topton for several years. She had also been employed as a sewing machine operator by the former H.K. Deisher Knitting Mills, Kutztown, and the former Keith Knitting Mill, Mertztown.
Mrs. Fenstermacher was a member of the Ray A. Master Post 217, American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, Topton.
Survivors: Daughter, Sandra A. (Fenstermacher), widow of Neal Wagaman, Binghamton, NY; sons, Thomas D., husband of Fay A. (Serfass) Fenstermacher, Allentown, Randall H. Fenstermacher, Mohnton, Steven G. Fenstermacher, Topton; five grandchildren, Scott Wagaman, Craig Wagaman, Randall Fenstermacher, Jr., Matthias Fenstermacher, Dr. Kristen Fenstermacher, V.M.D.; and nine great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family with Reverend Roger M. Ulrich officiating. Interment will be in Topton Union Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
