Gerald C. Witman

GERALD C. WITMAN SR., 62, OF OLEY Gerald C. Witman Sr., 62, of Oley, husband of Ruth J. (Himmelreich) Witman, passed away on Monday at home. Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Carl F. and Lillie (Steiff) Witman. Gerald worked as a maintenance supervisor for Boyertown Foundry Co. for 36 years, retiring in 2012. He was a life member of the Reading Motorcycle Club and the Harleys Owner Group National Chapter and Deer Lake Chapter, and the American Motorcycle Assoc. He was also a member of the Boyertown Orioles F.O.O. #22, the Keystone Fire CO No. 1 in Bechtelsville, Gabelsville Athletic Assoc. and the Pike Twp. Sportsman's Assoc. Surviving with his wife of 45 years is daughter, Waynette M. Wanamaker, wife of Stanley, of Temple; son, Gerald C. Witman Jr., husband of Jeanne E., of Fleetwood; sister, Shirley R. Levengood, wife of Neil, of Boyertown, and seven grandchildren. Along with his parents, he is predeceased by his brother, James C. Witman. A funeral service will be Friday, 7 p.m. at Catagnus Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc., 1020 E. Phila. Ave., Gilbertsville, with Rich Grill officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 5:30 to 6:45 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be Saturday, 9:30 a.m. at Berks County Memorial Gardens, Fleetwood.
