HELEN L. SCHANK, 88, OF CONSHOHOCKEN Helen L. (Ferenz) Schank, 88, died Sunday, October 2, at her home in Conshohocken, surrounded by her loving family. She was the widow of Joseph D. Schank Sr. A daughter of the late Gregor and Rose (Vontor) Ferenz, she was born on October 9, 1922 and raised in Stowe. Helen has lived in Conshohocken for over 60 years. She was a member of St. Matthew's RC Church of Conshohocken, where she was a faithful member of the altar society. She was a homemaker and also had worked with Quaker Chemical and Villanova University. She is survived by her sons, Joseph D. Schank Jr. of Conshohocken, David J. Schank of Gilbertsville and Dr. Dennis J. Schank of Gilbertsville; a daughter, Andrea (Schank) Hunter of Conshohocken; sister, Mary (Ferenz) Stankunas of Stowe, and brother, Michael Ferenz, Stowe. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Joshua Hunter, Alicia (Hunter) McEvoy, Kathryn Schank, Jessica Schank and Christina Schank, and nine great-grandchildren, Hayley and Emma Hunter, Ava and Molly McEvoy, Julian, Kayden and Lucas Marlin, Nate Fulmer and Liam Schank. Her funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, October 6, at 10:30 a.m. from the St. Matthew's RC Church, Third & Fayette streets, Conshohocken, with Fr. J. Thomas Heron officiating. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday evening and from 9 to 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 6, 2011, at the Moore & Snear Funeral Home, 300 Fayette Street, Conshohocken. Interment in St. Matthew's Cemetery, Conshohocken. Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to St. Matthew's RC Church, 219 Fayette Street, Conshohocken, PA 19428.
