Horace W. Annis

HORACE W. ANNIS, 76, OF SCHWENKSVILLE Horace W. Annis, 76, husband of Elizabeth J. (Huszti) Annis, Schwenksville, died Tuesday, at Phoenixville Hospital. Mr. Annis was born on December 27, 1935, in Plattsburg, NY, and was a son of the late Benjamin and Clara (Wells) Annis. He served as a photographer in the US Naval Reserve. Mr. Annis was a lithographer. He retired in 1995 from the Philadelphia Inquirer, but previously was a long time employee of the Beck Engraving Co., Philadelphia. He was a member of Graphics Communication International Union. Mr. Annis was a member of Jerusalem Evangelical Lutheran Church, where he volunteered with its food pantry. He also volunteered with the American Red Cross in Pottstown. He enjoyed camping, square dancing and his computer. In addition to his wife, of 55 years, Mr. Annis is survived by his daughters, Deborah L., wife of Edward Smith, W. Norriton Twp.; Carolyn M., wife of Daniel Nevels, Bellbrook, OH, and Diane C., wife of Robert Reimers, Hilltown Twp., and his grandsons, Brian Nevels, William Reimers, Steven Nevels and James Reimers. He was preceded in death by his infant son, Robert, and his siblings, Esther Boyle, Loretta Wightman and Donald, husband of Theresa Annis, St. Petersburg, FL. He will be missed greatly by his beloved Shih Tzu's, Hallee and Kallee. The funeral service will be held at 3 p.m., Sunday, at Jerusalem Evangelical Lutheran Church, 2nd and Church Sts., Schwenksville, with the Rev. Daniel M. Schaefer, Pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Schwenksville Cemetery, Friends may call from 2 to 2:45 p.m., Sunday, at church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Jerusalem Lutheran Church Food Pantry, 311 Second St., Schwenksville, PA 19473 or the American Red Cross, 2221 Chestnut St., Philadelphia, PA 19103. Arrangements are by the Holcombe Funeral Home, Inc., Trappe.
