John F. Berger

JOHN F. BERGER, 51, OF OAKS John F. Berger, 51, Cherry Lane, Oaks, died Saturday, at Penn Medicine At Rittenhouse Hospice, Philadelphia. Mr. Berger was born on November 13, 1960, in Norristown, and was a son of Mary E. (Huntzman) Berger, with whom he resided, and the late Harvey A. Berger. He was a graduate of Spring-Ford High School and the Western Montgomery Career & Technology Center. Until last October, when his illness prevented him from working, Mr. Berger was head custodian of Audubon Elementary School. Mr. Berger was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church. He was a member of the Titanic Historical Society and enjoyed giving talks about the tragic sinking. He also rescued Golden Retrievers and was a member of the Delaware Valley Golden Retriever Rescue. In addition to his mother, Mr. Berger is survived by his brother, Daniel A. Berger, at home; his sisters, Kathleen M. Arroyo, Limerick Twp., and Eileen E. Stagliano, W. Norriton Twp.; two nieces, Donna Carey and Leslie Arroyo, and seven great- nephews and nieces. A funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, 212 Dayton St., Phoenixville. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m., Wednesday, at the Holcombe Funeral Home, Inc., 21 Main St., Trappe, and from 9:30 to 10:15 a.m., Thursday, at church. Burial will be private in Jacob's Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery, Pine Grove Twp.
