Joseph E. Elias

JOSEPH E. ELIAS, 57, FORMERLY OF POTTSTOWN Joseph E. Elias, 57, of Hill Road, Denver, and formerly of Pottstown, died Thursday at his residence. Born in Pottstown, he was the son of the late Thomas and Joanna (Chayson) Elias. Mr. Elias had worked as a laborer at various places of employment until his retirement in 1992. He was a former member of St. John The Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church, Cherry Street, Pottstown. Joe was an amateur Ham radio operator. Surviving are six brothers, Thomas Elias (Bonnie) of Wernersville; David Elias of Phelps, NY; John Elias (Lola) of Boyertown; Stephen Elias (Amy) of Waterloo, NY; James Elias (Lisa) of Douglassville, and Robert Elias of Mechanicsburg; four sisters, Patricia Grupe of Philadelphia; Mary Kreider (Leroy) Middleboro, MA; Kathleen Elias, and Stephanie Supplee (Gary), both of Douglassville, and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his three cats, Smokey, Cuddles and Veronica. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated in St. John The Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church, 301 Cherry Street, Pottstown, on Monday , October 3, 2011 at 10 a.m. Interment will be in St. Aloysius New Cemetery, Lower Pottsgrove Township. A viewing will be Monday from 8:30 - 9:30 a.m. at Warker-Troutman Funeral Home with Parastas services at 9:15 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to , Tribute Program, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105-1942 or to the Animal Rescue League of Berks County 58 Kennel Road Birdsboro, PA 19508.
