JOSEPH TOMASELLI, 57, FORMER POLICE SERGEANT Joseph Tomaselli, 57, of Pottstown, New Hanover Twp., formerly of Plymouth, husband of Margaret A. "Meg" (Jeffers) Tomaselli, passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 4 at home, surrounded by his family, after a three-year battle with breast cancer. Born in Fountain Hill, he was the son of the late Joseph D. and Louise M. (Swartwood) Tomaselli. Joe graduated in 1987 from Penn State with a BS in criminal justice. He worked for 31 years as a police officer, starting in Upper Hanover and spending 28 of those years on the New Hanover Police force, becoming Sergeant. He was a DARE Officer in the Boyertown School District, a member of the DARE Officers Association, the Juvenile Officers Association, and the Montgomery County FOP Lodge #14. Joe was a member of Blessed Teresa of Calcutta RC Church, enjoyed fishing and loved spending time with his family. Surviving with his wife of 21 years is daughter Jessica Tomaselli; sons Joseph J. Tomaselli and Dominick J. Tomaselli; sisters Cathy Rebeck and Tracie Conway, wife of Mark; two grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, Sept. 7, at 11 a.m. at Blessed Teresa of Calcutta RC Church, 256 Swamp Pike, Schwenksville with Fr. Paul Brandt officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Park, Pottstown. Visitation will be Friday, Sept. 6, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Catagnus Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc., 1020 E. Phila.
