LaRue Dell

LaRUE DELL, 93, OF KIMBERTON LaRue (Sellers) Dell, 93, wife of the late Charles Q. Dell of Kimberton, died on Friday evening, February 10, 2012 in the Phoenixville Hospital. Born in Orbisonia, PA, she was a daughter of the late Newville and Olive (Black) Sellers. A graduate of Orbisonia High School, she was an active member of Centennial Evangelical Lutheran Church in Kimberton, where she taught Sunday School for 19 years and was an active member Dorcas Society. She also served on Alter Guild and took turns in cleaning the church since the early 1940's. LaRue was a member of the Kimberton Fire Company Auxiliary since 1955, Kimberton Grange and served as a Girl Scout leader for more than20 years. She was an avid reader, bird watcher and a great lover of nature. LaRue enjoyed baking, embroidery and needlework. Surviving are sons, Charles Dell and Robert Dell; daughters, Bonnie Strickland and Trudy Mahan; eight grandchildren, Melissa Dell Renner, Robert Dell Jr., Charlene Dell Culf, Carla Brown, Mark Strickland, Joshua Mahan, Jennifer Mahan and Jessica Mahan; seven great-grandchildren, Heather Hartman, Chelsea Brown, Logan Strickland, Matthew Strickland, Zoe Strickland, Thomas Renner and Michael Renner; three great-great-grandchildren, Franklin Hartman, Addison Hartman and Landon Brown; a brother, Norman Sellers, and sister, Vera Himes. She was preceded in death by brother, Melvin Sellers, and sister, Thelma Miller. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Funeral Service at Centennial Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1330 Hares Hill Road, Kimberton, on Friday, February 17, 2012. A visitation will be held at the church on Friday from 9 to 10 a.m. followed by a service at 10 a.m. Immediately following the service interment will be in Bowman's Chapel Cemetery, Cass Township, Huntingdon County. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to Centennial Evangelical Lutheran Church, PO Box 840, Kimberton , PA 19442 or to the Animal Care Fund, Inc., Box A, E. Smithfield, PA 18817. Arrangements are by the Devlin Rosmos Kepp & Gatcha Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Main Street at Fourth Avenue, Phoenixville.
