Leroy William Hoffecker

LEROY WILLIAM HOFFECKER, 83 Leroy "Sonny" William Hoffecker, 83, passed away on Friday, April 26, 2013 at Manatawny Manor, where he was a resident. He was the husband of the late Elizabeth (Schalles) Hoffecker. Born in Birchrunville, Chester County, he was the son of the late Leroy and Ella May (Mason) Hoffecker. He is survived by three sons, James Hoffecker, husband of Vicki of Pottstown; Scott Hoffecker, husband of Mary Ann of Boyertown, and Mark Hoffecker of Royersford; four grandsons, Steven, Michael, Derek and Jason Hoffecker; his brother, Robert Hoffecker, husband of Lucy of Spring City, and three nephews, Robert, Brian and Tim Hoffecker. He was employed at Diamond Glass Company in Royersford for 36 years, retiring in 1984. After retiring, he and his wife spent several years living and traveling in their trailer between Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Florida. He loved the beach and to, what he called, "tinker", and he had plenty of opportunity to do that between his car and trailer. He was an original motor-head, always helping someone with their car. And loved to tell the story about his "Reverse Races" and the days he spent working on the farm throwing hay bales. Leroy loved nothing better than a good hot dog and Spike Jones on the radio, except for his family! He was a sweet, caring and simple man who will be greatly missed by his family. Memorial contributions may be made in Leroy's name to the Manatawny Manor Benevolent Care Fund, Manatawny Manor, 30 Old Schuylkill Road, Pottstown, PA 19465. Per his instructions, his body was donated to medical science. A remembrance gathering will be held at a later date.
