Mary Gephart

MARY GEPHART, 90, OF LOWER POTTSGROVE Mary (Matay) Gephart, 90, of Lower Pottsgrove Twp., PA, died on Saturday, October 20, 2012 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of Robert H. Gephart, with whom he shared 67 years of marriage. They met during World War II, serving their country abroad. Born in Spangler, PA, she was a daughter of the late Stephen and Mary (Macrena) Matay. Mrs. Gephart enjoyed clipping and swapping coupons with friends and going on casino bus trips with her husband. She was an Army veteran serving during World War II as Corporal. Survivors include one son, Norman, husband of Merrie Gephart of Boyertown, PA; one daughter, Roberta Hanley of Pottstown, PA; one sister, Agnes Tarlecki of New Jersey; two grandchildren, Jamie, husband of Tracey Hanley of Pottstown, PA, and Chad Gephart of Abington, PA, and two great-grandchildren, Brittany Wagner and Summer Hanley. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Francis, Joe and George Matay, and her sisters, Helen Sormaitis and Kay Todloski. A graveside service with military honors, will be held 11 a.m. on Wednesday, October 24, 2012 at Highland Memorial Park, 701 Farmington Ave., Pottstown, PA. Rev. Thomas L. Craver will officiate.
