Pearl M. Johnson

PEARL M. JOHNSON, 87, OF BIRDSBORO Pearl M. (Spohn) Johnson, 87, of Birdsboro, passed away in the Emergency Room of the Reading Hospital and Medical Center, West Reading, on Friday, February 24, 2012. Born in Hopewell, Warwick Township, Chester County, she was a daughter of the late Harry G. and Eva M. (Murray) Spohn. She was the widow of Luther Lewis Johnson, who died on June 21, 1999. She attended Christ United Methodist Church, Birdsboro. She was a graduate of the former Birdsboro High School. Pearl was a member of the Manatawny Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution and loved volunteering at the Veterans Home in Spring City. She was an accomplished self-taught artist and especially enjoyed painting for others. She also enjoyed her flower garden. She is survived by one son, Denton L., husband of Priscilla A. Johnson of Birdsboro, and a daughter, Judy K. Johnson of Birdsboro. She is also survived by two sisters, V. Irene Dean of Birdsboro and Ruth E. Orr of Morgantown; four grandchildren, Pamela A. (Johnson), wife of David M. Cassel; Brad M., husband of Alisha Johnson; Kyle R. Mieczkowki, and Justin A., husband of April Mieczkowski; six great-grandchildren, Allison R. Cassel, Grace L. Cassel, Aaron D. Cassel, Emma Faith Johnson, Justin A. Mieczkowski Jr. and Lilah G. Mieczkowski, and one god-daughter, Lori (Dean) Berk. She was predeceased by one brother, Alvin Spohn. Funeral services will be held at the Dengler Funeral Home, Inc., 144 N. Spruce Street, Birdsboro, on Wednesday, February 29, 2012 at 11:30 a.m. Interment will be in Birdsboro Cemetery. A viewing will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday from 10:30-11:30 a.m.
