Petro Hunder

PETRO HUNDER, 87, OF MONT CLARE Petro Hunder, 87, husband of the late Frances (Losynsjka) Hunder, of Mont Clare, PA, died Wednesday evening, June 13, 2012 in Phoenixville Hospital, after suffering from cancer. Mr. Hunder was born in the village of Koniuchej, Ukraine. He was the son of the late Danella and Irene (Bohuslawska) Hunder. He came to the United States in 1949 and became a citizen on March 26, 1965. Mr. Hunder worked at the former Phoenix Steel Corporation until 1985 when he retired. Mr. Hunder was a member of the Ukranian Club, Polish Club, Hungarian Club, Slovak Club, St. Michael's Club and Friendship Fire House on High Street in Phoenixville, where he was on their Dart League. He won a Dart championship in 1997, and was a loyal Phillies fan. He always liked to help people, when they had a problem at their home, he would fix it. He is survived by daughters, Mary Ann Praweckyj, Reading; Vera Wisler, Pottstown, and Mary Ann Praweckyj, Reading; sons, John Praweckyj, Pottstown, and Pete Hunder Jr. (wife Cathy), Pottstown; very loving daughter-in-law, Marie Praweckyj of Phoenixville; one brother, one sister, nephews and cousins all in Ukraine; five grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by son, Russell Praweckyj, and grandson, Patrick Simes. Relatives and Friends are invited to attend his Funeral Service in the Devlin Rosmos Kepp & Gatcha Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 517 S. Main Street at Fourth Avenue, Phoenixville, PA, on Tuesday, June 19, 2012 at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Sts. Peter & Paul Cemetery, Phoenixville. A viewing will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday morning from 10 to 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent the Phoenixville Hospital Cancer Center, 824 S Main Street, Phoenixville, PA 19460.
