Raymond D. Tarantola

RAYMOND D. TARANTOLA, 78, OF COLLEGEVILLE Raymond D. Tarantola, 78, of Collegeville, died Thursday, November 10, 2011 in Phoenixville Hospital. He was the husband of Lorraine (Lenhardt) Tarantola for 23 years. Born in Milford, New Jersey on September 23, 1933, he was the son of the late Donald and Lillian (English) Tarantola. He graduated from high school in Frenchtown, New Jersey in 1951. Mr. Tarantola had been a railroad engineer for many years, working for both Conrail and Norfolk Southern. He enjoyed trains, traveling, and music. He belonged to St. Eleanor's Roman Catholic Church in Collegeville and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. Along with his wife, he is survived by stepchildren, Jeffrey Lenhardt of California, Diane Strunk (Timothy) of Graterford, Gail Byrnes (Thomas) of Limerick,and Mark Lenhardt (Maria) of Douglassville. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Justin Figiel, Jordan Strunk, Chelsea Strunk, Corey Strunk, Travis McCrea, Erin Gill (Anthony), Heather Byrnes, Kelly Byrnes, Sarah Lenhardt, and Shannon Lenhardt. Relatives and friends are invited to his funeral mass in St. Eleanor's Roman Catholic Church, 6th Ave. & Locust St., Collegeville on Tuesday, November 15, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. with visitation from 9:30 until 10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Pennsburg. Contributions in Mr. Tarantola's memory may be made to St. Eleanor Catholic Church, 6th Ave. & Locust St., Collegeville, PA 19426.
