RICHARD S. DUSTY KISTLER, 62, OF BOYERTOWN Richard S. Dusty Kistler, 62, husband of Sharon J. (Erdie) Kistler of 47 Sunset Drive, Boyertown passed away on Friday, April 27, 2012, at the Reading Hospital Medical Center, West Reading, PA. He was a Gift of Life Donor. Born in Harrisburg, PA, he was the son of the late Robert W. and Audrey Y. (Lyons) Kistler. Richard was a 1967 graduate of Susquehanna Township High School. He received his Bachelors and Masters degrees at Shippensburg College as a Reading Specialist. He was a Spring-Ford Middle School Teacher, mainly teaching reading in the 8th grade for 33 years retiring in 2004. He was a Social Member of the Royersford VFW Post 6341 and was the past president of the Spring-Ford Education Association. He coached Spring-Ford middle school Track, Baseball and Football as the linebacker and receiver coach and during his coaching time achieved an unprecedented ten undefeated seasons. In 1961 he was the All Star Player for the Central Penn Baseball.League. He also played Basketball. In 1967 his team won the PIAA District 3 Basketball Championship and he was invited to tryouts for the Phillies and Pirates as a short stop. Surviving with his wife Sharon, is a son, Robert J. Kistler of Bechtelsville; a sister Joanne Mongeaux of Lancaster. He is predeceased by his sister Jeffrie Ann Horn, who passed away in 2011. His Family will be receiving family and friends starting at 3 p.m., Saturday, May 5, 2012, at the Linwood W. Ott Funeral Home, Inc., 111 North Reading Avenue, Boyertown.
