Robert P. Hartz

ROBERT P. HARTZ, 85, OF BECHTELSVILLE Robert P. Hartz, 85, of Bechtelsville, husband of Lois L. (Mattis) Hartz, died Tuesday at his residence, with his family by his side. Born in Reading, PA, he was a son of the late John Hartz and the late Dorothy (Zielinski) Hartz. He worked at the Eastern Foundry in Boyertown for 44 years, retiring as a general foreman. He loved playing golf and going hunting. Robert also enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He served in the Army in the 88th infantry during WWII. Robert was a member of Good Shepherd United Church of Christ in Boyertown. Surviving in addition to his wife of 63 years are one daughter, Carol, wife of Tom Trout of Bechtelsville; one son, Robert A. Hartz, husband of Debra of Oley; one sister, Jean, wife of Frederick Stankiewicz of Reading; four grandsons, Bryan Trout, husband of Nicole of Boyertown; Randy Trout, husband of Jennifer of Fleetwood; Troy Hartz, husband of Teran of Boyertown, and Blaine Hartz of Gilbertsville; two granddaughters, Samantha and Alexandra Hartz, both of Oley, and two great-grandchildren, Brandon and Aubrey Trout, both of Fleetwood. He was predeceased by one brother, Jack Hartz. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 5, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at Morrell Funeral Home Inc., 124 West Philadelphia Ave., Boyertown. Officiating will be Rev. Dennis P. Christie. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. A viewing will be held from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
