Robert T. Himes

ROBERT T. HIMES, 72, OF POTTSTOWN Robert T. "Bobby" Himes, 72, of Pottstown, died on Sunday, April 22, 2012 at Season's Hospice at the Phoenixville Hospital. He was the husband of Rebecca (Lafferty) Himes with whom he shared 22 years of marriage. He was born in Altoona, PA, he served in the U.S. Army from 1960-63. Bobby was an installer and mechanic working with heating equipment. More recently he worked as a journeyman pipe fitter. He was formerly employed by Oley Mechanical and Victory Fire Protection and Terry Gehris Heating. Bobby was a member of the former Orioles Association, Pottstown. He enjoyed old steam locomotives, Celtic music, the Young Tenors, Andrea Bocelli, spending time at Ocean City, MD and his animals, especially his Boston Terrier "Pink Sneakers". In earlier years, Bobby liked to eat out and play cards with friends. He had many life long friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, sister and brother. Arrangements are being handled by the Houck & Gofus Funeral Home, Inc. of Pottstown. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family to help with funeral costs c/o Rebecca Himes, 66 W. 4th Street, Pottstown, PA 19464. There will be no memorial service at the request of Mr. Himes. He wanted people to spend the time that they would have at his memorial service with their own families and loved ones.
