Roland G. Schock

ROLAND G. SCHOCK, 91, OF BOYERTOWN Roland G. Schock, 91, husband of LaRue E. (Seip) Schock of Boyertown passed away on Wednesday, February 8, 2012 at the Pottstown Memorial Medical Center. Born in Morysville, he was the son of the late Mary E. (Sands) and Henry W. Schock. Roland was a WWII Navy Veteran serving in the 126th NCB and the 86th NCB Battalions with the fighting Seabees. For 42 years he was a truck driver for West Motor Freight, Boyertown retiring in 1983. From 1984 - 2003 he was a messenger for National Penn Bank, Boyertown He was a member of Good Shepherd United Church of Christ, Boyertown. He was a member of the American Legion. Surviving with his wife, LaRue, of 60 years (Married July 4, 1941) is a daughter, Patricia Ann Reinert of Boyertown; two sons, Roland H. Schock of Summerton, SC, and Terry L. Schock of Boyertown; a brother, Lindy R. Schock of New Berlinville; one sister, Margaret Schock of Amity Township; five grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by three grandchildren, Brett and Kelly Reinert and Gordon E. Schock; three sisters, Anna, Helen and Lena, and three brothers, Donald Martin and Harold. Funeral services will be 11:30 a.m., Saturday, February 11, 2012 at the Linwood W. Ott Funeral Home, Inc., 111 North Reading Avenue, Boyertown. The Reverend Dennis P. Christie will officiate. A viewing will be Saturday between 10:30 - 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Boyertown.
