Ruth C. Keim

RUTH C. KEIM, 95, OF EDGEMONT Ruth C. Keim, 95, died on Saturday, December 14, at White Horse Village, in Edgemont, PA. Born and raised in Kimberton, she was the daughter of Milton and Erma Rapp Clevenstine. Ruth graduated in 1940 from West Chester State Teacher's College with a degree in Elementary Education. At West Chester, she met her future husband, Charles R. Keim. They were married for 57 years and were parents of Roger (deceased), Jane (deceased), and Molly. Ruth taught at several one-room schools and then for 25 years at Schuylkill Township Elementary School. She was a generous and loving wife and mother, a devoted grandmother, and a passionate teacher. She loved gardening and music and was a talented quilter. She is survived by her daughter Molly (Robert) Morrison, granddaughters Emma and Elizabeth Morrison, grandsons Roger and Brandon Keim, and daughter-in-law Dr. Angela Gilladoga. She is also survived by her sister, Esther (Jim) McKissic as well as many nieces and nephews. She was pr-deceased by brothers Paul, Harold, Henry and David. A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 20, at 11:30 a.m., at St. Vincent's United Church of Christ, 137 Ridge Road, Phoenixville, PA. Interment will be private. Memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Chester County Historical Society, 225 N. High St., West Chester, PA 19380.
