Sylvia C. Roosmann

SYLVIA C. ROOSMANN Sylvia C. (Herzog) Roosmann, wife of the late Henry "Hank" Roosman, daughter of the late Charles and Mary (Dries) Herzog, was called to dwell in her heavenly home by her Lord and Savior on Thursday evening, October 25, 2012. Mrs. Roosman was born in Trappe, PA, and attended school in Trappe. She was a resident of Willow Grove for 41 years before moving in 1992 to Phoenixville. She then moved to Spring City in 2003 to live with her daughter. Mrs. Roosman was a crossing guard in Upper Moreland for 17 years and a member of the Calvary Presbyterian Church for 50 years. In 1951 she was twice a contestant on TV Direct from WCAU station. She sang on the radio from the former Non-Sectarian Tabernacle on N. Broad Street, which was directed by the late Harry Bristow. She sang duets in the thirties and forties in a number of Philadelphia Churches with Eleanor Lederer. Mrs. Roosman was married in 1945. She was a guest soloist at many Gideon banquets which were attended by several hundred guests and dignitaries. She also sang the National Anthem at the dedication of the Willow Grove Industrial Park. More recently Mrs. Roosmann attended the Spring City Fellowship Church. Mrs. Roosman is survived by one daughter, Linda C., wife of the late Paul Plummer, of Spring City; three granddaughters, Jullyn A. (John) Keilman, Jeanette A. (George) Mitchell and Julette A. Plummer, fiance of James Andrews; five great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Roosman was predeceased by one brother. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service at the Spring City Fellowship Church, 540 Glass Avenue, Spring City, PA on Wednesday morning, October 31, 2012 at 10 a.m. Officiating will be the Rev. John W. Shantz. Burial will be in the Limerick Garden of Memories, Limerick, PA. Friends will be received from 9 - 10 a.m. Wednesday morning at the Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made in her name to the Spring City Fellowship Church, P.O. Box 172, Spring City, PA 19475.
