Earl R. Wagner Sr., 74, husband of Faye C. (Russell) Wagner, Brookside Way, Upper Frederick, died Thursday, at home.|
Mr. Wagner was born on Jan. 30, 1939, in Norristown, and was a son of the late Henry W. and Florence V. (Williams) Wagner.
He was a graduate of Collegeville-Trappe High School and Penn State University.
Mr. Wagner retired in 1988 when he sold Wagner Auto Sales Inc., East Pikeland. The company was founded by his father and first located in Lower Providence.
Mr. Wagner was a member and past-president of the Spring-Ford Country Club. He also was a member of the Montgomery County Bee Keepers Association, the Penn State Alumni Association and Phoenix Lodge No. 75, Free & Accepted Masons, Phoenixville. He became an Eagle Scout while a member of Boy Scout Troop No. 109, Evansburg.
In addition to his wife of 53 years, Mr. Wagner is survived by his children, Shelleybeth W., wife of John Craven, Raleigh, N.C., Earl R. Wagner Jr., at home; and his brother, Harold E., husband of Evelyn (Williams) Wagner, Tracy, Calif.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Holcombe Funeral Home Inc., 21 Main St., Trappe, with the Rev. Michael Evans, pastor Trinity Christian United Church Of Christ, Skippack, officiating. Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m., Saturday, at the funeral home. Burial will be private in Fernwood Cemetery, Royersford.
