Edward J. Sullivan Obituary
Edward J. Sullivan, 81, of Douglassville, formerly of Allentown, died Thursday, May 8, 2014 in his residence. He was the husband of the late Dorothy A. (DePol) Sullivan. Born in Flushing, NY, September 10, 1932, Ed was the son of the late James J. and Laura A. (Cassidy) Sullivan. He faithfully and honorably served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War with a rank of Staff Sergeant. Ed was employed as a District Manager at Hobart Corp. headquartered in Troy, Ohio, for 37 years before retiring in 1995. Ed was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church, Orefield where he formerly sang with the choir.
He is survived by his children, Carol A. Radzik and her husband, Joseph, of Schnecksville; Steven G. Sullivan and his wife, Brenda Sue of Katy, Texas; Barbara L. Ferenz and her husband, Stephen of Oley; grandchildren, Craig S. Sullivan and his wife, Kayla; Jennifer N. Loaiza and her husband, Marco; Sarah A. Ferenz; great grandchildren, Case and Hadley Sullivan.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 16, 2014 at St. Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church, 1879 Applewood Drive, Orefield. Visitation period from 7 – 8:30 p.m. Thursday in the Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc., 4906 Route 309, Schnecksville. Interment with military honors will follow the Mass at Resurrection Cemetery.
