GEORGE HARVEY SMITH, 81, OF PHOENIXVILLE George Harvey Smith, 81, husband of the late Madge (Cisick) Smith, of Phoenixville, PA, died on Monday, October 22, 2012 at home. Born in Mont Clare, PA he was the son of the late George B. and Sara (Griffith) Smith. George was a veteran of the United States
, where he served in Germany during the
. He worked 30 years for Bell Telephone as a Lineman and then as an Engineer. He attended Otterbein United Methodist Church in Mont Clare, PA. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign War Post 1564, and coached little league at KYAL for 25 years. He loved outdoor activities, especially hunting and fishing. Surviving are his beloved, Joanie Pierson and her family; sister, Mary Jane Powell of Royersford, PA; sons, Retired Pennsylvania State Police Trooper George Michael Smith and wife Suzanne of Birdsboro, PA; Command Master Chief Andrew T. Smith, USN and wife Mary Ellen of Colchester, CT, and four grandchildren, Kara, Tyler, Ryan and Sorcha. Relatives and Friends are invited to attend his Funeral Service in the Devlin Rosmos Kepp & Gatcha Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 517 S. Main Street at Fourth Avenue, Phoenixville, PA on Friday, October 26, 2012 at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Michael's Cemetery, Mont Clare, PA. A viewing will be held in the funeral home on Thursday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in his name may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association, 600 Reed Road, Broomall, PA 19008.
